Meet the talented Dettmann Homes team.

Carl Dettmann
 -
Founder and Managing Director

Dettmann Homes was founded in 2008 by Carl Dettmann. Carl began his apprenticeship at 16 years old after discovering his passion for building in his early years of high school. A local to the Macedon Ranges, Carl was mentored by Bernie Morrison a highly experienced custom home builder with an outstanding reputation amongst the community for his perfectionism. Carl successfully completed his apprenticeship in 2005 and was eager to begin a business of his own. Formally known as Dettmann Constructions, Dettmann Homes has grown to be the leading architectural builder within the Macedon Ranges. This is something that Carl is extremely proud of.

Since 2018, the workforce of Dettmann Homes has grown exponentially which has allowed Carl to take a step back from working onsite and oversee the company in its entirety. Being so, Carl’s focus is on strategic planning and prospecting for new clients to continue the success of Dettmann Homes.

Damien McKeown
 -
Construction Manager

Damien is a well known member of the community, having owned and operated a very successful cabinetry business for 30 years. His attention to detail and care for customers are some of the many reasons for this success. Late 2021 Damien concluded that he was ready for a change, and having known Carl for many years, was soon part of the Dettmann Homes team. Damien was tasked with creating and leading the Aftercare division of Dettmann Homes.

After two years working in this role, Damien then progressed to the position of Construction Manager where he oversees and ensures superior quality for every Dettmann Homes project. Damien is also the first point of contact for all clients, and a mentor to all Team Leaders, Carpenters and Apprentices.

Andrew Cullen
 -
Tracking and Scheduling Manager

Andrew chose the option of a gap year after high school and utilized this time travelling and playing cricket in England. After returning from this adventure, he studied a Bachelor of Construction Management at Deakin University. Upon graduating, Andrew was employed by a large developer in Hoppers Crossing/Geelong and spent 8 years working in a variety of roles, ultimately as a Project Manager and gained extensive knowledge of the industry. 

Now working as the Tracking and Scheduling Manager at Dettmann Homes, he is responsible for the tracking and reporting of financials throughout the duration of every project. Andrew creates and manages schedules and allocates all Dettmann Homes labour. Each fortnight Andrew provides our clients with ‘Project Updates’ that summarises budgeted vs actual expenses, details ‘Costs to Complete’, and highlights items of discussion.
