CHARTING NEW WATERS: DAMIEN’S NEW ROLE
Over the last 3 years, the workforce at Dettmann Homes has grown exponentially – with the number of employees more than doubling. This growth has allowed our team to take on larger and more complex projects, a higher number of projects per year and have a faster completion rate due to the number of hands on deck.
Our incredible boom in business comes with the need to grow our management team to ensure Dettmann Homes is always providing clients with exceptional quality and care for each and every project.
Today, our team are thrilled to share with you that Damien McKeown, our former Aftercare Manager, will now be transitioning into a new role as our Construction Manager. This transition is a testament to Damien’s dedication, his love for our team, and his deep appreciation of the mission and values of Dettmann Homes.
Damien excelled in his position as Aftercare Manager, with this unwavering commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail which is the core of Dettmann Homes and the reason we continue to be the leading builder in our region.

A MESSAGE FROM DAMIEN
Firstly, I would like to say thank you to Carl and Dale for this incredible opportunity. I couldn’t be more excited to be taking on this challenge and feel very grateful to the entire Dettmann Homes team for embracing this change.
It has been an absolute pleasure running the Aftercare services over the last two years and I am excited to be embarking on this new journey where I can be of more service and help to everyone.
Together alongside this amazing team, I know we will reach new heights of excellence.
OUR POWLETT PROJECT
At the beginning of Spring, we began works on a wonderful new project located in Kyneton. This home has a rich history, and being over 100 years old, needs a lot of care and respect for heritage which our skilled teams and trades provide and deliver.
Having had various additions and renovations in the past with previous owners, our clients came to us with a desire to bring original elements of the home back to life; alongside reconstructing an Extension to the building to suit the needs of their family.
At the front of the home our team will be restoring the original Verandah and entrance steps, as well as redefining the concrete paths throughout the gardens. The use of locally sourced bluestone and custom decorative posts pay homage to the original architecture of this building.
The Extension works encompasses a new bathroom and wardrobe, as well as a what will be a very much loved family and sewing room for the clients and their grandchildren to enjoy in the coming months.
THE LAST THREE MONTHS AT HARPERS
We’ve had an exciting and productive three months at Harper’s Lane! After the meticulous wall straightening phase, we welcomed our talented subtrades to commence their rough-ins, covering electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning – all crucial steps towards crafting this dream home.
One significant milestone was the installation of insulation throughout the entire project, ensuring comfort and energy efficiency. Our dedicated team then proceeded to plaster the entire house, meticulously preparing it for painting – a task that is currently underway.
Our skilled craftsmen (and women) from Dettmann Homes have been hard at work on the finishing carpentry works, including skirting, architraves, doors, and feature moldings, all with an unwavering commitment to perfection. And let’s not forget the impressive joinery work currently underway by the Evolve Group Team; this house is set to feature some truly remarkable details.
Outside, the exterior of this home has transformed, with the majority of exterior work now completed. Soon, we’ll see the commencement of outdoor concrete and landscaping, putting the final touches on the beautiful surroundings of this project. We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve made, and it’s all thanks to the dedication of our talented team and the trust and support of our clients. As we move forward, we’re excited to see this dream home taking shape.
